Noamas Chomskis arba Noamas Čiomskis (Noam Chomsky, 1928 m. gruodžio 7 d.) – amerikiečių lingvistas ir politinis aktyvistas. Dėsto MIT, Lingvistikos ir filosofijos departamente. JAV Mokslo akademijos narys.

Mokslinė veikla

Pagarsėjo sukūręs generatyvinę gramatiką bei eksperimentiškai pademonstravęs tam tikrus įgimtus žmonių kalbinius sugebėjimus (tipinės sakinių konstrukcijos, sudaromos kalbėti besimokančių vaikų). N. Chomskio darbai padarė didelę įtaką psichologijai, ypač – sugriaunant klasikinę biheviorizmo teoriją. Generatyvinė gramatika ir įvairios N.Chomskio sukurtos gramatikos bei yra tapę itin svarbiomis, sparčiai besivystančiomis kalbotyros sritimis, darančiomis stiprią įtaką psichologiniams, matematiniams (metakalbos) ir kompiuterių mokslo (leksinių ir sintaksinių analizatorių) tyrimams.

Politinė veikla

Noamas Chomskis yra kairiųjų politinių pažiūrų. Vakarų šalyse jis pagarsėjęs dėl savo griežtos JAV politikos kritikos. Noamas Chomskis yra žinomas ir kaip politinis aktyvistas, atvirai reiškiantis nuomonę apie politinius įvykius JAV ir pasaulyje. Pasak mokslininko, jo pažiūros yra nepatogios įtakingiesiems, dėl šios priežasties jis laikomas JAV politiniu disidentu.
