Premier League – aukščiausia Anglijos futbolo pakopa, profesionalių futbolo klubų aukščiausia lyga. Lygoje žaidžia 20 klubų, kurie tarpusavyje sužaidžia po dvejas rungtynes. Trys paskutiniąsias vietas užėmusios komandos iškrenta į EFL čempionatą, vietoje jų kitą sezoną žaidžia žemesnės lygos komandos – dvi užėmusios pirmąsias vietas ir viena iš 3–6 vietas užėmusių komandų. Keturias aukščiausias vietas užėmusios komandos patenka į UEFA čempionų lygą.
Istorija
Anglijos futbolo čempionatas kaip Anglijos futbolo lyga buvo įkurtas 1888 m. balandžio 17 d. Tai buvo pati pirmoji visame pasaulyje futbolo lyga, ją įkūrė Aston Villa klubo direktorius . 1892 m. lyga priėmė daugiau klubų iš Futbolo sąjungos ir tais pačiais metais buvo išskaidyta į 2 divizionus, o pajėgesnis iš jų pavadintas I divizionu. 1992 m. vasario 20 d. buvo įkurta Premier League, o Anglijos futbolo lyga tapo 2-ąja pakopa.
